About Silviya

Silviya received her Master’s degree in English and Bulgarian Languages and Literature from the University of Veliko Tarnovo St. St. Cyril and Methodius in Bulgaria.  Thereafter, she taught English at an English Language School for five years before relocating to the United States in 2001 to continue her post-graduate education at Los Angeles University.

In 2007, Silviya obtained her paralegal certificate from University of Washington.  She is an experienced Immigration Law paralegal, as well as a DSHS certified interpreter in Bulgarian and English.  Thus, she attends Immigration Court and Asylum interviews as an interpreter on a frequent basis.  Prior to joining Watson Immigration Law, she was a paralegal at White & Watson, PLLC.

Community Activities
Silviya is also involved in the pro bono community.  She was a volunteer at the Northwest Women’s Law Center.  She currently helps the Bulgarian community in general.

Languages
As her first language, Silviya can fluently read, write and speak Bulgarian.  She is also proficient in Russian.

Hobbies
In her spare time, Silviya likes to travel, read and spend time with her nine year old daughter, who she considers to be her biggest achievement.
