H1b Cap Met for FY 2013

Unfortunately, a few moments ago the USCIS confirmed that they have received sufficient H1bs for FY 2013. Below is a copy of the text from the USCIS website. If you have missed out on the opportunity to file your H1b this year, then it is best to be prepared to file your H1b on April 1st 2014 for FY 2014.  Given the speed at which the H1b cap has been met this year, it is my belief that next year the cap will run out even quicker. So be prepared!

FY 2013 H-1B Cap

On June 11, 2012, USCIS received a sufficient number of petitions to reach the statutory cap for FY 2013. On June 7, 2012, USCIS also received more than 20,000 H-1B petitions on behalf of persons exempt from the cap under the advanced degree exemption. USCIS will reject petitions subject to the cap for H-1B specialty occupation workers seeking an employment start date in FY 2013 that are received after June 11, 2012.
