Jorge Barón, Executive Director-NWIRP on Tahmina’s Show March 1st at 10am PST

Tahmina Watson Showcard-color-NFWe are incredibly honored to have Jorge Barón, Executive Director of Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) on Tahmina’s radio show “Immigration With Tahmina” on Desi 1250 am this Tuesday March 1st at 10am PST.  NWIRP is a leading organization on immigration rights both in Washington State and in the nation. Northwest Immigrant Rights Project promotes justice by defending and advancing the rights of immigrants through direct legal services, systemic advocacy, and community education. NWIRP frequently challenges the government on key immigration issues obtaining just results for all immigrants nationwide.  We are lucky that this organization is located in our state! baron

Jorge L. Barón has served as the Executive Director of the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) since April 2008, having previously worked as a staff attorney with the organization for two years. Jorge’s passion in advocating on behalf of immigrants is firmly rooted in his own immigrant experience: he is originally from Bogotá, Colombia, and came to the United States at the age of thirteen. Jorge is a graduate of Yale Law School and Duke University and lives in Seattle with his wife Tyler and their three children, Isabella, Joaquin and Luca.

Jorge is a leading national figure leading on advocacy for immigrants rights and immigration reform. I am privileged to call him a colleague and friend and am grateful he will join us to speak about the incredible work that NWIRP does under his leadership.  I  am excited for you to listen to him talk immigration with me!
