King County Washington Women Lawyers is a fabulous organization for lawyers in Seattle. I have been involved for several years now. This month, we have lauched our ‘monthly happy hour’ as our members wanted more informal gatherings. The first monthly happy hour was held at the Jasmine restaurant in downtown Seattle.
At the happy hour, we honored three star board members – Kris Costello, Lisa Leone and Erin Ehlert for their incredible efforts in creating the KCWWL Criminal Law Section. Lawyers practising criminal law in Seattle did not have a current support group for networking, mentoring, advice etc. The KCWWL Criminal Law Section is meeting that gap. At its opening reception in January 2009, almost 150 people attended, including numerous members of the judiciary. Since then, there have been several successful events.
