My favorite non-profit organization, Chaya, held its annual auction and dinner at the Seattle Sheraton hotel on Saturday 15, 2011. Chaya is merging with local non-profit organization API Safety Center. The auction and dinner was to raise money for the new venture. At 500 guests, the event was a total sell-out! The atmosphere was full of energy and colors as usual, and the who’s who of the South Asian community were all in attendance showing their support.
Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles was the keynote speaker. An advocate to eradicate domestic violence, Sen. Kohl Welles was an excellent and elequent speaker. She wished the re-birth of these two organizations much success. Many of my clients have received life-saving services during extremely vulnerable times in their lives. Chaya was able to help them find and create new lives after surviving domestic violence. Watson Immigration Law was proud to attend the event and show the support that such an organization deserves.
