After a nail biting long weekend of wondering whether the Supreme Court will take on the DAPA/DACA litigation case, this morning, the wait was over. The SCOTUS announced it will be hearing the immigration executive action matter which seeks to give deferred action to parents of children who are citizens and green card holder as well raise the age of DACA applicants beyond 31 (the age cap was imposed when DACA was introduced in 2012).
Here is the breaking story from the Associated Press.
This is very welcome news which makes the beginning of 2016 exciting after the long drawn out and frustrating process of this case in 2015.
We remind our readers of our interview with our very own Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson who lead a coalition in writing an amicus brief in support of DAPA/DACA. Thank you again to our Washington State leadership who continue to fight for justice and stand up for immigration reform.
We will be watching this space closely. Stay tuned.
