Ever wondered how Immigration and art may cross paths? Perhaps not. But immigration law applies to artists just as much as to everyone else. I am thrilled to announce that my guest for Tuesday 27th 2016 is Justyna Kisielewicz! She is a renowned artist from Poland. Her art work is currently on display in many parts of the US and Europe. She was featured in Elle Magazine recently also.
I met Justyna in Warsaw, Poland last year when I presented at the Bitspiration conference. Her vibrant paintings and personality was a draw to myself but also to everyone at the conference. I am so honored she is able to join me on my show to talk immigration!
In her recent works she uses illusion and photorealism to explore objectification of nature by the splintering of subjects with overlapping stripes from which partial title images appear. These new images are readable as an optical illusion and reflection which gives and exciting and complex design. On a formal level she pays homage to the masters of the past using handmade oil paints, egg tempera and European prime quality linen and paper.
Her recent exhibitions include a solo show in 2016 at Villa Koeppe Gallery in Berlin and a 2015 solo show at Friends of Leon Gallery in Sydney, Australia. Her artworks have also been exhibited numerous times in Poland, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Berlin and Hamburg, both in art galleries and muse
