On January 20th, inauguration day, I was proud to stand with Seattle Mayor Ed Murray at a press conference opening the much anticipated legal clinic held by the Seattle Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs. Almost 800 volunteers joined that day and help almost 1000 people with legal consultation, citizenship application and know your rights services. It was a profound way to start the first day of a new administration that will likely create restrictive immigration policies. It was inspiring to see the community come together and support the vulnerable. Thank you to Mayor Murray for his vision and leadership and the tremendous work the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs conducts.
