Dear Readers, Listeners and Viewers.
You may recall that when the last travel ban suspending immigration was signed, there was indication that further restrictions would be imposed. There is now chatter that these further restrictions are imminent. Likely visa categories to be affected will be Student work permissions known as optional practical training (OPT), H1B, H2B, L1 and J1 visas.
The anticipation is that people on these visa categories will not be able to enter for a 60-90 day period.
Until the order is signed, we will not know for sure. But from past experience, the takeaway from this information is preparation. If you are outside the US (even during these Covid-19 days), please return to the US as soon as you. Today, even.
If you are in the US, I expect that your applications can still be filed, extended etc. The order will likely only affect entry into the US.
Please ensure you spread the word that all travelling folks must return to the US if this where you call home. Please ensure you tell your friends and family to sign up to our blog, our Facebook page and our newsletter.
Stay in touch and if you are affected, let us know. This is a good time to remind you of Airport Lawyer, a web portal of which I am cofounder.
These are challenging times in our country. If you are out and about at protests, please do wear a mask, stay safe and healthy.
Warmest wishes to all,
Tahmina and team
