On this very special and historic day that we welcome new leadership at the White House with President Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris, I honor two incredible women featured in my book Legal Heroes in the Trump Era. They both showed unparalleled, fearless and tireless eadership in the last four years.
Aneelah Afzali, Founder and Executive Director of MAPS AMEN, advocated against Islamaphobia. A former lawyer and dear friend, she organized the community in unprecedented ways. She has spoken at mosques, temples, churches, rallies, legal conference and so much more. As President Biden reverses the Muslim Ban a little later today, I think it is befitting to honor Aneelah too. Listen to her interview, and read more about her in the book.
Traci Feit Love is one of my personal heroes. I watched her from afar as she envisioned and created Lawyers for Good Government, a non-profit that mobilized 125,000 lawyers from around the United States. Her foresight, strategic actions, and hard work has served vulnerable people around the country. She has lead the efforts to protect the rule of law and democracy and became the face lawyers turned to in every crisis. I am grateful for her leadership and that she allowed me to share her story. Note that portions of the proceeds of the book are being donated to L4GG (one of 3 non-profits that will receive portions of the proceeds- you can read more in the book itself).
Much gratitude to each of these inspiring and incredible women!! Links to the interviews below. Let us know what you think!!
