Some universities are making significant strides in supporting international students beyond their academic journey, particularly when it comes to navigating the complexities of starting businesses that require work visas. One standout institution in this effort is Columbia University, which continues to offer resources to help students with entrepreneurial aspirations.
Recently, Tahmina had the privilege of being invited as a guest at Columbia University’s Career Design Lab, part of the Columbia University School of Professional Studies, to speak with students. It was an opportunity to share insights on entrepreneurship, immigration, and visa processes for those looking to launch startups in the U.S. after graduation.
“I am so grateful to be a resource and part of the ‘village’ supporting these talented students,” Tahmina shared after the event. She expressed deep appreciation to the Career Design Lab team for trusting her to guide students through their entrepreneurial journey.
Special thanks were extended to Robin Wang, Sabrina Bellina, and Diane M. Spizzirro, whose efforts made the event a success. “I truly appreciate all the coordination and organization that went into making this happen,” she said, highlighting the value of the students’ brilliant and thoughtful questions. The event also featured a book signing, which added a special, memorable touch to the day.
Events like these demonstrate Columbia University’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and helping international students thrive in the U.S. startup ecosystem, even beyond graduation.
