The journey to comprehensive immigration reform is a long one- one that requires consistent advocacy, perseverance and continuous engagement and awareness of this process known a democracy. Immigration reform is only possible through Congress and since it has not happened in the last 8 years of President Obama’s presidency, we have to look towards the next president and the politicians that will make up Congress in November 2016.
As a staunch advocate for immigration reform, I now have the privilege of informing and inspiring people through my radio show “Immigration with Tahmina” on Desi 1250am. I have had the privilege of speaking with some important people on my show. Check out the show at Desi1250am as well as the archived shows on SoundCloud.
In the meantime, here are some events I have attended to show my support to the presidential candidate I think is best for immigration reform (and much more!).
Oh! I was also lucky enough to see President Obama in person who attended a fundraiser supporting Senator Patty Murray, who has been a huge supporter of immigration reform.
