I am incredibly honored to announce my next guest on my radio show- on Tuesday September 6th at 10am PST– Doug Rand, Assistant Director for Entrepreneurship, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
As you may be aware by now, on August 26th 2016, the Department of Homeland released new proposed rules for International Entrepreneurs to come to the US to start businesses and create jobs. In a coordinated effort, The White House released the news in an article on Medium written by Tom Kalill, Deputy Director of Technology and Innovation at The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and Doug Rand. Doug will join me on the show to discuss these hot off the press new rules. The much anticipated rules were welcome by lawyers, investors, entrepreneurs and many more and have garnered much attention nationally as well as internationally.
Doug Rand is the Assistant Director for Entrepreneurship at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where his work focuses on the Startup America initiative and efforts to promote entrepreneurship across the country. Prior to working at the White House, Doug served as co-founder and CEO of the innovative publishing company Playscripts, Inc., as well as a co-founder of the review aggregator StageGrade. He is a graduate of Yale Law School and the Yale School of Management, and received Master’s and undergraduate degrees from Harvard, where he studied evolutionary biology. As a writer, Doug’s plays have been performed worldwide, and he has published numerous articles covering subjects from theater economics to electoral politics to insect evolution.
Doug has been an incredible force and advocate for entrepreneurship. His leadership on the issue, in part, resulted in the release of the proposed new rules. Over the years, I have had the privilege of correspondencing with him and have learned of his dedication to entrepreneurship.
