non-resident Bangladeshi’s (NRB) from around the globe got together in one forum. From the United States, to the United Kingdom, Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and many other parts of the world, Bangladeshi professionals gathered with hopes to know each other and to find solutions to issues facing Bangladeshis both in and outside Bangladesh.

I was so honored to have been invited to speak about US immigration matters. The event was attended by business professionals who had achieved much success in their industries. In addition, many of the Bangladeshi media celebrities were in attendance. The event addressed, among other things, investment opportunities in Bangladesh itself and why NRBs need to pay more attention. The event also touched on issues concerning low-skilled workers in the Middle East and elsewhere and what the Bangladeshi government should do to protect their rights.

While this was the first, it will not be the last. The event gave rise to a new organization named World Bangladesh Organization.  I hope that in due course, with the talented group of people who gathered at the summit, more profound issues will be addressed and solutions presented. I wish the organization and organizers much success with the missions set forth at the summit and thank them for all their efforts and for the invitation.
