Emily Parkhurst is the editor in chief of the Puget Sound Business Journal. She has been with the PSBJ for five years, first as a technology reporter, then digital managing editor, then managing editor. Before that, she was an education and government reporter in her home state of Maine. She is a national award-winning journalist. Her series of stories on Seattle-area technology companies and their use of H-1B visas won regional awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. Her series on of stories on the restraint of school children in Maine won the Society of Professional Journalists Sigma Delta Chi award for investigative reporting. She has a masters degree in creative writing and a bachelors in classical music performance.
