On the first of being president, Trump ordered a freeze on all new regulations. Here is a copy of the order issued from the White House. The order states, in pertinent part, the following:
” With respect to regulations that have been published in the OFR but have not taken effect, as permitted by applicable law, temporarily postpone their effective date for 60 days from the date of this memorandum, subject to the exceptions described in paragraph 1, for the purpose of reviewing questions of fact, law, and policy they raise. Where appropriate and as permitted by applicable law, you should consider proposing for notice and comment a rule to delay the effective date for regulations beyond that 60-day period”
The final rules for International Entrepreneur has not yet gone into effect and therefore is subject to this freeze order. What does this mean? Well, hard to say until there is clear directions. But for now, the rule will be delayed for 60 days. Thereafter, it may be delayed again.
Given that the issue of entrepreneurial parole is a bipartisan one, I hope that the rule lives on. I for one will be advocating for it as strongly as I can. I hope you will join me in making our voices heard.
