While the writing was on the wall that the new administration would rescind the International Entrepreneur Rule, I was still holding hope that the so called business-men in this administration would see the economic merits of such a rule. It is afterall the closest we have ever come to a ‘startup visa’ in this country. And as someone who worked so hard on the rule, it is difficult to watch this fall apart.
The administration has finally sent a notice to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) this past Friday. Reporter Tisha Thidani explains the process well in her article here. There is a lawsuit currently pending on the issue. Oral arguments were heard on the case earlier this month. We will have to wait and see where all of this ends up.
