“Our short film was selected as the Best Humanitarian Film (Short) by the San Francisco International Film Awards.
Growing up in America: Life After the Talib Documentary is a film by two friends about resilience, home and belonging in the face of war.
This film looks at the side of immigration rarely seen: from evacuating Kabul through to discussions with lawyers and filming asylum paperwork, it explores how one family puts their lives back together after losing everything.
This award is for our short film. Our feature-length film is currently in post-production. We are seeking production partners and grant opportunities to help get the word out!
Directed by Isabel Soloaga and co-directed by my friend, Ali Mohammady. Many thanks to Ali and the Mohammady family for sharing their life and story.
