Beginning September 2, the visa interview waiver program will no longer apply to most nonimmigrant visas. As a result, many applicants who previously qualified for a waiver will now be required to attend an in-person interview. If you plan to travel for a visa application around this date, you should check your local consulate’s instructions carefully to determine if you need to schedule an interview.
