Mallori Thompson brings to OneAmerica a breadth of experience in and commitment to economic and racial justice, particularly within the immigrant and labor rights movements. She received Mallori Thompson Cropher Master of Social Work from the University of Washington with a concentration in community-centered integrative practice. Previously, Mallori obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Redlands in southern California, graduating with honors for her narrative thesis on the transformative process of Peace Corps volunteers. She also spent a semester studying and interning abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she worked with students from low-income communities to learn English in preparation for their university studies.

Before joining OneAmerica, Mallori dedicated herself to workers’ rights as an organizer with Working Washington, a worker-led organization fighting for labor rights and living wages. While obtaining her Master of Social Work, she had the opportunity to work with El Centro de la Raza within the Homeownership Center and support the founding of their lending circles program. She later joined the Statewide Poverty Action Network as a graduate intern, where she worked with the powerful SPEAK (Sharing Personal Experience As Knowledge) program to bring the voices of people experiencing poverty into advocacy in order to transform public discourse and create real policy change in Washington State.

When not working alongside the wonderful OneAmerica team, Mallori enjoys adventuring across Western Washington with her two eccentric dogs and finishing the day with tea and any number of artful hobbies.
