Watson Immigration Law Highlights “The Detention Lottery” — An Immersive Theater Experience

We’re excited to share an upcoming community event that sheds light on the realities of the U.S. immigration system through the power of live theater.

The Detention Lottery, written by Margaret O’Donnell and directed by Amy Youngblood, is an immersive theater experience that takes audiences inside an immigration detention courtroom — a setting few ever see firsthand. In less than an hour, this powerful production portrays the life-changing decisions made every day within the U.S. immigration system.

We’re especially proud that our very own Nicole Lockett will be participating in this important production. Many of you know that Nicole is no stranger to the stage, and we’re excited to see her bring her talents to this meaningful piece focused on immigration and justice.

Following the performance, there will also be a talkback discussion with practicing immigration attorneys, including Melissa Campos-Castañeda, Luz D. Metz, Karin Tolgu, and Daniel Smith.
